DEWAN MELAYU remains committed to its mission of upholding the dignity and stature of the Malay community in both national and international economies. Its image, role, and effectiveness have gained increasing recognition from national leaders. DEWAN MELAYU has also been entrusted with assisting the government, particularly on issues affecting the interests of Malay entrepreneurs and businesses.
DEWAN MELAYU has been appointed to serve as the secretariat overseeing and guiding the Malay economy through the establishment of the Malay Economic Agenda Secretariat (SAEM). Additionally, DEWAN MELAYU collaborated with the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development to organize the Fourth Bumiputera Economic Congress (KEB4) on September 10 and 11, 1999.
In its continuous efforts to advocate for Malay entrepreneurs affected by Malaysia’s economic downturns, DEWAN MELAYU successfully established the Entrepreneur Recovery Fund (TPU) and the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Project Fund (TPUB), both the results of a memorandum submitted by DEWAN MELAYU to national leaders.
Vision & Mission:
DEWAN MELAYU is an organization dedicated to uniting Malay entrepreneurs and businesses for the economic benefit of the Malay community. Its objectives are as follows:
To unite Malay businesses and professionals for the economic advancement of the Malay community
To elevate the dignity and excellence of the Malay race, particularly in the economic sphere, at the state, national, and international levels
To serve as a platform for the economic struggles of the Malay community
To ensure that the interests of members are safeguarded in any business-related laws enacted or amended in Malaysia
To ensure that the activities of DPMM’s state branches and affiliate members align with the core principles and objectives of DEWAN
To publish magazines and brochures, as well as maintain websites related to business matters
To assist or represent members in discussions related to trade, procurement, sales, and other matters, both within and outside of Malaysia
To establish relationships or collaborations with other organizations or associations with similar objectives as DEWAN
To engage in the buying, selling, mortgaging, leasing, ownership, renting, transfer of ownership, and development of both movable and immovable property
To issue Certificates of Origin or other certificates for goods exported from Malaysia and provide verification according to the regulations in place from time to time.
